Hi. I'm Doug Fowler. You may not have read the rest of this blog - it's pretty small,
I won't lament how poorly it did. Maybe I did something wrong. I thoguht the name was cool, but maybe it's hard to get to?
I'm going to post a bunch of thigns in a series for our young people and anyone who reads, though. It's the series of devotionals I emailed weekly from March, 2020 through 2021, and then monthly through 2022.
It covers a bunch of spiritual topics as our youth tried to cope with lockdowns and such while keeping and growing in their faitgh.
Cast of Characters
I few cast of characters may be helpful; I try not to keep some stuff about church building battles - one closed during Covid - but if I slip:
Sal Varsalone was director of Greater Canton Youthquake for 39 years, till his death in late November, 2021. It was an independent, inner city ministry, a 501c3 which helped kids get saved, discipled, and serving the Lord. (The link is to the Gospel with another ministry I have served in for years now.)
Westminster was the building and church we used on Thursday and which was dying. We tried to have a Sunday School on Sundays but it was the only part of the church which had any life. Covid killed it, as it did a number of small, struggling churches.Pastor Brown is mentioned 1-2 times, too; he was the senior pastor there.
Camp CHOF is the camp we sent kids to with the money people gave, and which the ministry is now committed to sponsoring kids to with the rest of the money that remained after Sal's death.
Canton Baptist Temple is my home church, it owns Camp CHOF and we now encourage kids to go there if possible.
I will mention various youth and adults with prayer requests, too.
