Resisting the Devil, Put On the Full Armor of God

We had a small gathering to discuss the future and fill kids in. We knew not all parents would be comfortable letting their kids come. This pandemic is hard on all of us. That’s why I encouraged things like Cool Kids Ministries stuff (Kidz Storm Live, etc.), Camp CHOF’s virtual camp Sundays at 7 PM & Day Camp Tuesdays at 10, etc.. It’s also why I’ve urged you to build your own relationship with God to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Eph. 6:11&13, the start of the verses on the Full Armor of God.) I’ve urged you to seek other ways to grow which are Biblically sound.

There are marches by Luciferians who support the devil and want him to bring in a One World Government. This shows what I’ve said. Some work for false unity under a system that rejects God. This ties in so well with Mark’s Thursday teaching about lawlessness of the Last Days. Others, like Marxists, also hate God. We must pray people don’t believe the devil’s lies. America is founded on Biblical principles: Freedom; equality; etc. Like Israel we turned our backs on God from the start when we refused to treat everyone as equal.

The only answer is to turn to God & repent, turn from our sin and trust God to heal our divisions. It’s not in a worldly system. We must pray people get saved.

We don’t know when Jesus will return. We may need to get as many saved as we can and not worry about the world returning to normal. I struggle with that, too – I finished a Print On Demand book with a fictional baseball season and am writing another. Part of me misses the game. But, I write to glorify God first. I share the Gospel and have characters who model Godly living. It’s okay to miss how the world was and be sad. We should deal with it by trusting Jesus to bring good out of a situation. Ask Him to use us to pray and help people. Psalm 56:3 says “What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.” You could put any emotion there.

Of course, we must first trust Jesus with our souls. Once you trust Jesus as Saviour, calling on Him by faith to save you from your sins and make you new inside, turning from sin and to Him, He lives in you through the Spirit and you have a lifelong relationship with God. Amazingly, one Netflix show, “Family Reunion,” actually mentioned Jesus Christ (that any show does is an answer to prayer.) A girl character says she prayed God would give her courage to overcome her fear of water so she can be baptized. (Baptism is for believers, but it’s easy to imagine the character’s grandma leading her to Christ before). When we step out in faith, God always gives us what we need. The devil only wants to steal, kill, and destroy. God wants to build us up so we can overcome the evils of this world through His strength.

So, pray for God to overcome the evil groups I named, at least through getting every soul possible to trust Jesus to save them. We may not be near the end, but even if we aren’t, Jesus warned us so we could look up, and remember this world isn’t our home. He went to prepare a place for each believer that’s more amazing than we can imagine. This isn’t our final home. We believers should be building Heavenly treasure.
