Taking a Stand part 2 - Standing Against Deception By Using Truth

 As we discuss taking a stand for God, let’s start standing against deception with a joke. People joke that one sign of intelligent life on other planets is it has not contacted us, since we aren’t worth it. In reality, God made us and Earth special. The devil tries to trick us, though.

Some deny God by using aliens. They’d give them credit for anything and prefer to bow to them rather than admit God's power and Creation. But, so-called aliens are fake. Fallen angels disguise themselves as aliens, like they pretend to be dead people. People are “once to die, then the judgment.” Heb. 9:27. They don't come back from the dead. They’d have too much fun in Heaven, and Luke 16:19-31 shows they can't come back from Hell. Also, laws of physics show aliens aren’t real. UFO's often do things that can't be done. Those who claim to have seen aliens, like those who see spirits, have usually been involved in the occult or been around someone who has or somewhere that was. You need to plead the name and/or the blood of Jesus Christ (like saying “Jesus Christ is Lord!”) to get those things to leave.

Why is this important? We must stand against deception. We can love silliness like Robin Williams as alien Mork from Ork. (He was such a comic genius, some scripts just said “Robin goes off here.”) We just have to use spiritual eyes to see what’s fantasy. One can be drawn into things that only seem harmless but aren’t. Hence, in faith & practice the Bible is final authority. Things like the occult we should never do since it involves evil spirits. Others, like the TV show example I shared, we can if it doesn’t draw us away from God.

We don’t know what this will be, but 2 Thessalonians speaks of great deception in the last days. This delusion might or might not be demons disguised as aliens. But Jesus, in Matthew 24:37-39, says the time of His coming will be like the days of Noah. Is He talking about the rapture and how sudden it was? Or, is He talking about Nephilim?

 Who? Genesis 6:4 (KJV) translates the Hebrew “Nephilim” as “giants.” You can look up Chuck Missler’s teaching for more, but in short, some say Nephilim were made by fallen angels interacting with humans. (“Sons of God” are always angels in the Old Testament, only in the New are they believers.) They say this explains tales of creatures like a half man, half goat. Genetic engineering is very useful, but think of what someone evil could do with it. It’s like a robot could be very helpful, or it could destroy like the Terminator. Hitler is another example in how he wanted to build a master race by killing all others.

Yet, it’s not as easy as saying: “If it’s half man, half anything it’s evil. Check.” The devil won’t make it easy. 2 Cor. 11:14-15 says the devil can become an angel of light, and those who serve him can pretend to be righteous. Imagine someone saying he’ll cure all diseases in people who take his mark in their right hand or forehead? To a believer that should raise red flags. The Bible warns in Rev. 13 the Mark of the Beast (antichrist) will be there. (This, by the way, is how to answer those who say any vaccine is the Mark. We’re not in the Tribulation, we don’t claim to worship with it, and it can’t be taken in the right hand or forehead. The devil can trick people by making things too strict, like when Eve said (Gen. 3) they couldn’t touch the tree. All God said was that they couldn’t eat from it.)

This isn’t saying the Antichrist will be an alien, just that the devil uses the idea to trick people. It does mean we need to know what the Bible says so it can be our foundation, so we won’t be deceived. It means sharing Jesus’ salvation so people can call on Him as Saviour now. Matt. 24:24 says the devil’s tricks and wonders would deceive the elect *if it were possible*. That means it won’t be possible, because they would if it was. Instead, we those have called on Jesus to save them from their sin will be protected. That’s why it’s vital to make sure friends & loved ones know Him now; we don’t know when Jesus will come for His church.
